APPROVAL OF THE REPLAT IN STEP ONE INCLUDED A VARIANCE TO TEMPORARILY ALLOW A LANDLOCKED LOT WITH NO FRONTAGE TO A PUBLIC STREET, AND THE SUBSEQUENT REPLAT NEEDED IN STEP TWO IS TO RECONFIGURE THE LAND AND INTO A FLAG LOT WITH FRONTAGE AND ACCESS TO 14TH STREET. SO THE PURPOSE OF THE REPLAT TODAY IS TO COMPLETE STEP TWO OF THIS PROCESS.

THE CITY COUNCIL REMANDED IT TO CITY TO BACK TO US, TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION FOR FURTHER CONSIDERATION BEFORE THE WHOLE COMMISSION, WHEN THE ABSENT MEMBERS HAD A CHANCE TO BE PRESENT AND CONSIDER THE MATTER, AND AT THAT POINT THE COMMISSION VOTED TO APPROVE IT ON A DIVIDED VOTE.
I VOTED AGAINST IT. OKAY. IT WENT UP TO CITY COUNCIL, AND THE COUNCIL APPROVED IT ALSO BY A DIVIDED VOTE AND THEN, AS COMMISSIONER BRONSKY JUST MENTIONED, IMMEDIATELY, THE FOR SALE SIGN WENT UP AND THE APPLICANT MADE AFTER ALL OF THAT RIGMAROLE AND ALL OF THAT PROCEDURE AND AND THE APPLICANT, YOU KNOW, PAYING FOR TWO NOISE STUDIES BY AN EXPENSIVE CONSULTANT AND PROMISING THAT THE OFFICE BUILDING WOULD BE FILLED DESPITE A DOWN MARKET BY VIRTUE OF VIBRANCY.
NOTHING HAPPENED. OKAY. SO BASED ON THAT, I WOULD BE VERY ANXIOUS TO HEAR A PRESENTATION FOR AN ALTERNATIVE USE FOR THIS PROPERTY.
