IT'S TIME FOR OUR

[00:00:01]

SUMMER WRAP UP WHERE WE HIGHLIGHT CITY PROJECTS THAT ARE EITHER FINISHED OR ALMOST DONE.

YOUR CITY HAS BEEN WORKING HARD FOR YOU, MAKING UPGRADES AND IMPROVEMENTS TO OUR INFRASTRUCTURE.

HERE ARE THE LATEST PROJECTS.

WE WIDEN SHILOH ROAD FROM 14TH STREET TO PARK BOULEVARD, EXPANDING THE EXISTING ROADWAY WITH TWO NEW NORTHBOUND LANES.

OTHER IMPROVEMENTS INCLUDE TWO NEW BRIDGES IN THE NORTH AND SOUTHBOUND DIRECTIONS.

THE ADDITION OF NEW STORM DRAIN SYSTEMS, REPLACEMENT OF OLD CAST IRON WATER LINES, NEW SIDEWALKS AND TRAIL CONNECTIONS, STREETLIGHTS AND DEDICATED BIKE LANES ALONG THE OUTSIDE OF THE ROADWAY.

NEW INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS WERE ALSO COMPLETED AT BOTH 14TH STREET AND PARK BOULEVARD, INCLUDING TURN LANES AND TRAFFIC SIGNALS.

HERE AT EVANS PARK.

WE REPLACE THE PLAYGROUND PAVILION AND SPRINKLER SYSTEM.

NEW LIGHTING AND WALKWAY IMPROVEMENTS.

WERE ALSO PART OF THIS PROJECT.

WE ALSO UPDATED THE SPORTS COURT SITE.

DRAINAGE WAS IMPROVED AS WELL.

EVANS PARK IS MORE THAN 50 YEARS OLD AND IT HADN'T BEEN RENOVATED IN 30 YEARS.

WE CONTINUE TO OFFER OUR RESIDENTS SMOOTHER RIDES WITH OUR ASPHALT OVERLAY PROJECTS.

THE 2023 WEST OVERLAY PROJECT INCLUDED PARKER ROAD FROM THE WEST CITY LIMITS TO PARKWOOD BOULEVARD, PLANO PARKWAY FROM PARKWOOD TO THE NORTH DALLAS TOLLWAY AND PARKWOOD.

FROM WINDHAVEN PARKWAY TO PLANO PARKWAY.

ASPHALT OVERLAYS EXTEND THE LIFE OF ROADWAYS.

BY AN ESTIMATED 10 YEARS, CREWS MADE INTERSECTION AND SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS AT LOS RIOS BOULEVARD AND JUPITER ROAD, INCLUDING A NEW SIGNAL INSTALLED TO MANAGE TRAFFIC FLOWING TO AND FROM THE OAK POINT PARK NATURE PRESERVE AND RETREAT CENTER AND NEARBY NEIGHBORHOODS.

TWO NEW LANES AT THE INTERSECTION COMPLETE A FOUR LANE DIVIDED APPROACH FROM LOS RIOS BOULEVARD.

THE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS ADDRESS SAFETY CONCERNS FROM THE INCREASED LEVEL OF TRAFFIC VOLUMES LEAVING LOS RIOS BOULEVARD AND TURNING ONTO JUPITER ROAD.

OTHER INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS WERE MADE AT HEDGE OAKS ROAD AND LEGACY DRIVE, WEST SPRING CREEK PARKWAY AND WINDHAVEN PARKWAY AND MCDERMOTT DRIVE AND COY ROAD.

IN THE CROSS CREEK NEIGHBORHOOD, WATER LINES WERE REPLACED ALONG 13 STREETS.

OTHER WORK INCLUDED NEW DRAINAGE FEATURES TO ALLEVIATE LOCALIZED FLOODING AND EROSION CONCERNS.

THE HOLI HILL PARK HIKE AND BIKE TRAIL ON THE SOUTH END OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD WAS REPLACED WHERE IT WAS SHOWING SIGNS OF DETERIORATION.

OUR CREWS WORKED ON OTHER IMPROVEMENTS ACROSS PLANO.

ALMOST A MILE OF SIDEWALK WAS UPGRADED IN THESE AREAS.

A HALF MILE OF SCREENING WALL WAS REBUILT AT THESE LOCATIONS.

WE ALSO MADE IMPROVEMENTS AT SEVEN OF OUR AWARD-WINNING PARKS.

OUR TOTAL NUMBER OF INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS IS EIGHT.

WE INSPECTED AND MADE NEEDED CONCRETE REPAIRS TO 17.5 MILES OF STREETS, 35 MILES OF SIDEWALKS AND 15 MILES OF ALLEYS IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS AND ON ARTERIAL ROADS.

WE INSPECTED AND MADE NEEDED REPAIRS TO SEVEN MILES OF STREETS AND 14 MILES OF SIDEWALKS.

IMPROVING OUR INFRASTRUCTURE IS A KEY ELEMENT IN WHAT MAKES PLANO THE CITY OF EXCELLENCE.
